Angry IE 7 - Menu selection in web page dosen't work/very slow

How is everyone this fine mothers day?

I'll start out with my system specs

Sony Viao - WinXP (serv pk 2)
Pentium 4 CPU 2.66GHz
0.99 GB RAM

I currently ran into a strange and frustrating issue with IE7 while working online today, which is impeding my progress severly. For some reason, the menu that allows you to select items, or options on a website, will not load, or work at all. sometimes, if I'm really patient, it will pull up after 10-15 min, and then either do it on the next menu selection, or do nothing at all.

So far the only website that seems to be effected severly is eBay - and it is only on the page that is used to list items for sale. I have talked to 3 people in eBay's tech support since last evening and two Microsoft perosnel already today... none of them have any clue what the problem could be, and all could only speculate what is causing the problem.

To better understand what I mean, here is a link to the page in question - http://cgi5.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dl...d=&cpg=2&aid=6

As you can see, there is a menu under "browse for categories" - if yours is working (unlike mine), the menu options will be in black type when you open the page, and when you move your mouse over each selection, it will highlight each selection in blue until you make your choice, then it will open another window which will operate the same way, and then so on and so forth until you have your item listed where you want.

not for me,...the options are gray and cannot be selected, and if it does hapen to work, it takes up to 10 mintes for it to allow me to use it... for EACH menu item!

So far this only seems to affect this website and this particular page. really, really frustrating. Outside of that, my PC runs fast and clean on all otehr websites, so I'm seriously scratching my head. I have also tried two other computers (work and a freinds home) and the website and page runs smoothly, and both locations have the same system setup as my home PC.

what I have already done in attempt to cure the problem, but have not worked.

turned off my firewall, spyblockers, virus and ad-ware programes
ran all my virus, spyware and ad-ware programs
updated IE7 and windows
dumped my cache and cookies
Updated java program

any help on this woulf be greatly appreciated!!!
