SSH Help

OK, I keep getting the warning,

"Warning: This server is requesting that your username and password be sent in an insecure manner (basic authentication without a secure connection)."

I've looked around and the only thing I have found is to us an "SSH".
What is it, where do I get one and how do I do it.

Or, if there is another way around that message when trying to use basic authentificaion to enter a site please let me know.
Thanks, any help is appreciated.

Oh yeah, I am using IE7 and my os is Vista.
