Webrebates problem

Hi, i have been using adawre 6, and spybot search and destroy for a long time, and getting all the updates when availible. Recently i have noticed 2 exe's in my task manager that have not been picked up by adaware or spy bot.
Webrebates0.exe
and Webrebates1.exe

How can i get rid of these? Thx

Also having problems with "Web Rebates"

That makes two of us. I have SpySweeper, Ad-Aware, and SpyBot, and none of them can detect or remove this. Every time I open IE6 and as I surf from page to page (in fact, even as I try to write this) ads pop up almost continuously, all with the heading "--- - Microsoft Internet Explorer". Nothing I have, including pop-up blocker programs, can stop this. I've tried pressing Ctrl-Alt-Delete to see what programs are running in the background, but I can't find anything using this method. "Web Rebates" is a name associated with all of these ads when I right-click on them. Does anyone know how I can stop these ads from coming up, and keep them from coming up in the future? Thanks, Dave

Have you tried uninstalling thru Add/Remove Programs? WebRebates should show up there.

Add/Remove program -- Webrebates

Thanks for the suggestion. Yes, it does show up there, but when I attempt to remove it, I get a window titled "WJView Error" containing this message:

ERROR Could not execute Main : The system cannot find the file specified

ok.....do a search thru windows search and delete all webrebates fles and folders. then do it again to make sure all gone.

then do the same in the registry and do a second time to make sure.

after that reboot, and go to control panel and might be gone, but if not gone, rmove it and it should say"already been removed, want to remove from list"? and you say yes and then reboot and WALA!

winger, i'm quite sure you don't want another one... you certainly don't need it. i think webrebates is just crappy adware that implants itself into your system.
