can't access .gc websites
wasnt sure where to ask this but ill give it a shot here.
I'm having some difficulties accessing.gc websites. These websites usually deal with goverment services like passport canada (www.pptc.gc.ca). This only happens on one computer in my house so im sure it isnt an isp problem. the firewall and virus protection im using is trend micro's PC-cillin. i have scanned my comp many times over with no viruses everytime. I have also disabled PC-cillin's firewall and it still dosent work. Is this a virus PC-cillin isnt picking up or something else ? HELP (i use both IE and firefox) |

Hi P-DOG, welcome to TSF...
don't think it's a virus just at the moment...but malware of some kind is a possibilty. What is the exact message displaying on your screen when you try to load the page?

In firefox, Server not found error which is telling me to check my proxy and disable firewalls which i have done. In IE, Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage which is giving me basic suggestions like connect to the internet (which i am) and wrong address (which i searched using google).

Do you have any other security software installed on your machine...things like IP filtering software etc?
Also, have you checked your hosts file for any reference to the site?
