IE7 unstable

Hi, I'm having trouble with IE7 which unexpectedly closes down with the usual error reporting box. This is happening very frequently and does not have a consistent pattern. AVG 7.5 does not report any virus present.
OS =Windows XP/SP2 running on a Dell Inspiron6000. Any suggestions will be appreciated. Thanks.

My System

Uninstall IE7 thru add/remove programs, this will revert you back to the previous version of IE you were running.

Then run virus scan, run adaware, run disk clean up and then defrag.

Then reinstall IE 7. I had problems with certain computers and IE7 and when I did this it worked every time
