Problems With Connecting To Internet.

Hi, not sure if this is the correct forum to post this, but I found it the most appropriate lol

My gran has installed her BT broadband modem again, and it works fine, she is connected to the internet fine... HOWEVER, every time she tries to open Internet Explorer, all it says is "Server not found"... Its as though her IE doesn't know she is connected to the internet.

Am sorry for the lack of information but this is as much as I know.

Thanks,

Ryan

Goto:
  1. START --> CONTROL PANEL --> NETWORK AND INTERNET CONNECTIONS --> NETWORK CONNECTIONS
  2. Click ONCE on 'Local Area Connection' to highlight it.
  3. Look under 'Details' (Bottom Left Corner of Window)
  4. What does it say?
I want to see if you have established a connection the Internet Service Provider.

Somtimes after hooking up a modem I have had to hit the reset on the modem to get IE to bring up a page. Give it a shot. Reset is a pin hole on either the side or back of the modem. Stick a pin in there and hold for 15 sec and then release. Give it a minute and then try again.

Cheers-

Andy
