Cry cant view web pages in IE/mozilla

i get this message in the status bar when accesing almost all webpages :
Opening page http://localhost:44501/pl.html?START_LOG...
and ie locks att 99% CPU same thing in mozilla firefox but Opera works perfectly only problem i donīt really like opera.

my system:
Windows XP sp2
Kerio Personal Firewall 4.1 b6
Eset Nod32 2.000.11b

almost forgot ie and mozilla work perfectly when conneted to the internet trough another computer not router/swith
a have tried everything but nothing sems to work so i would appreciate som help.

that last part you threw in makes it sound like a router problem. Did you used to go through a router? When did you start getting this problem...was it after sp2?

Check the hosts file to make sure you haven't been hijacked by a program that changes it.

i have dialup modem at home so the router cant be the problem and the hosts file contains only "localhost 127.0.0.1"

open IE go to: Tools > Internet Options > Connections > and make sure it dosen't say "never dial a connection"

The use of a 'pl.html' suggests to me that this might be some sort of hijack as someone suggested earlier. Give your computer a scanning with HijackThis and post a logfile, please.
