Major Problems
Hi,
I almost gave up on computers entirely. I have spent days and weeks researching why my computers are not working properly and I can't figure it out. I have two computers, one desktop and one laptop. Both are running Windows XP Media Center Edition 2005. They are both running Internet Explorer 7. They are both having similar problems. My desktop: In internet explorer flash doesn't work. It is not just the new way to embed flash for IE 7 because no flash site will work (including Adobe's). SWF's dragged and dropped into the browser will not play either. Everything works fine in Firefox so it is not the way that flash is installed (however, I have tried uninstalling it using adobe's uninstaller and then reinstalling it with the standalone installer). Nothing seems to work. My Laptop: Strange, this one is; however, I will focus on the IE problems here and will post the other problems in another category. I first noticed the problem when I tried to log into yahoo. It would go to the logging in page and then not do anything. I eventually found out that any javascript, on any page, would not work. I went into internet options and enabled active script and anything else that looked like it may help, yet it didn't. I then noticed that it wouldn't print when I pressed ctrl+p. The print window doesn't even come up (it doesn't do anything). I also noticed that when I pressed ctrl+f to find something on the page the find window comes up but the next and previous buttons are grayed out and disabled even when I typed something in. What the heck is going on!? Thank you, I hope that you can help with this. Regards, Ryan |
