annoying connection problem
when i connect to the internet(dial up)the box comes up as normal,as does"connected to remote computer".at the next stage"verifing username and password"this repeats itself and takes a noticebly longer time to connect than usual.i have also been having a lot of dropped connections recently i dont know if that is related.
i have been in touch with my isp and they say it is not from their side.i have also run all the usual spyware and virus checks in safemode with no results. has anyone got any idea to what is causing this problem? |

It could be sometihng as simple as a faulty internet connection wire into the modem or even a faulty modem, What virus scanners are you using? I suggest you use AVG 6.0, you can download it for free at www.grisort.com! I very much doubt its spyware causing the problem but if your worried about spyware try using "webroot spy sweeper" which you can get for free at www.webroot.com!
In the mean time try a different modem if you have one! I hope this helps you! XXplosive

a noisy line can cause disconnections, also here we had trouble with phones that did something auto checking line, try unplugging any phones while you are on the net and see if it stops the disconnects
