Setting different computer with an existing IP from a different computer
Hello!,
I have a computer that is running win 98 and one with win xp. Is there a way to use the same IP from the win xp on the computer with win 98 with out the computers being networked, and if so, how do I go about doing so. Thanks |

you can also set a static IP address if you are not on a network. otherwise you might as well change the address of your house to the same one as your neighbors. your mail and your neighbors mail will be going to the wrong places. IP addresses are like street addresses.

Uh oh.

What exactly are you trying to do here? Why do you need multiple computers with the same IP? If the computers aren't networked at all, why are we even worried about the IP? |
