Question IE 6 - cannot set a home page (RESOLVED)

I have a Sony laptop running Win XP Home and IE 6 on a Linksys wireless (signal sharing only) network. I am unable to change my IE home page to something other than what I currently have (Google).

I have done spyware scans with AdAware, Spybot, and Windows Defender, along with a full system virus scan with AVG, and cannot find the creature that is preventing me from re-setting my home page. I have tried with Zone Alarm enabled and disabled. Any suggestions where I look next?

Much appreciated - Kermit2

Laugh Re: IE 6 - cannot set a home page

Thank you all for your help - I found the culprit. Disc space on drive C:/ was very very low so I moved some programs and heavy data to drive D:/ and that solved the problem. Many thanks again for all the suggestions.
