Internet Explorer 7 Closes Randomly on Specific Websites

Hi, I'm having this issue with my internet browsers where they just automatically close out of the blue. But so far, I believe it only closes in certain websites such as Yahoo Games and Myspace Login page. But this happens not just in Internet explorer, also in Mozilla Firefox. I've checked with Ried in the Hijackthis forum and the logs came out clean so he directed me to this part of the forum for help.

So... Help? I thank you in advance!

What sites in paticular are effected? You mentioned myspace and Yahoo games, these sites use flash on their pages, and yahoo games will use java script. It is possible that if the java installation were to become corrupt for it to result in the page been closed. So you may want to try uninstalling and re-installing these, however you should first try a safe mode network boot just to verify it is a spyware related problem.

I have noticed this as well. Now that I think about it I cannot put any pattern to this behavior. I will try and keep a lookout as to what site or links this happens on from now on.

Unfortunately I have now stopped using IE7 because of the fact it just dies on me and it has got to a point where it is more than just a bit annoying so I have not encountered this problem since going over to FF2

Thanks, I'll try that. I don't think it's a spyware problem though, I had my logs checked and it was clean.

Edit: but just to make sure, what other sites just javascript? I want to see see if it really is java before uninstalling and reinstalling.

Firefox and IE7 both does this for me . But only IE7 provides an error log on my desktop.

By the way, I also want to add that the browser closes before I can reach choosing my room webpage that is right after the "click here to continue". I tried AT&T web browser but it closes before I can get to the "click here to continue" page.

Re: Internet Explorer 7 Closes Randomly on Specific Websites

Mine does this too...just after i log into myspace, both IE and FF close. FF just shuts down completely, IE tries to reload the page a few times but then goes to the Website restore error page
