IE 7 Setting problem... I think

Hi everyone,

new to the forum, BTW is great...
I recently installed IE7.. When I was running IE6 and wanted togo to a web page such as ebay all I had to do was type ebay.com in the address bar and explorere would fill in the www.. Now if I type in ebay.com it comes back with a message that says it cannot find, check spelling.
I have been through all the setup options but can't seem to find the "one" .
Maybe I need to reload IE7??? What do you folks think...

Thanks...

Hi and Welcome to TSF

Type in ebay in the address bar, then hold down the Ctrl button and then press Enter. Does this bring up the ebay site?

What is the Internet Explorer AutoComplete options set to?

Quote:
To access the Internet Explorer AutoComplete options, click Tools, click Internet Options, and then click the Content tab. In Internet Explorer 6, click AutoComplete; in Internet Explorer 7, click Settings.

I have IE7 and have no trouble with IE filling in the www, this is a fresh install of IE7 without tweaking any settings.

I am not sure where to look fat this point, is your system free of malware/spyware? Are you updated with the latest security updates ?
Do you have any toolbars installed?

If you uninstall IE7 does IE6 fill in the www as before?
