EEK! IE7 Update Trouble. plz Help! (RESOLVED)

Hi all. Ive been gettin messages telling me to update to IE7. When i tried doing this, it doesnt work. I complete the installation process but, while saying "installation complete", it tells me it was unable to install some updates or something. I restart like it asks me to, log on and start Internet Explorer. It is still IE6 (same layout, button style etc.) although when i click help>about it comes up with an IE7 number?? Not only this, but now when click certain links and buttons, like downloads this message appears: "The requested lookup key could not be found in any active activation context". The only option given is 'ok' which i click and the page does nothing. I have installed IE7 on and offline with the same results and have made sure that i have turned off all spy and adware (that i know of). I am currently using Firefox as my browser and AOL 9.0 is my ISP. Any help would be great :) Thanks

Heres my HJT logfile if it helps:

Is IE7 listed in Add/Remove programs? If so you could try uninstalling and restarting and then reinstalling IE7. Also Make sure any firewalls/antivirus programs are turned off while installing IE7. I notice that from your HJT log that you have nortan. Make sure its off while installing IE7.
