VERY SLOW Startup and new windows in IE
Hello,
For several weeks I have been experiencing a problem with Internet Explorer. I thought it was spyware or something simlilar, but that has been ruled out in the Hijackthis Forum. My problem which was present on IE 6 and remains present after I upgraded to IE 7 last week, is an inexplicable lag in startup and when new windows are opened. I believe a file has been corrupted or there may be a problem with the registry. When I click to start IE, it reacts immediately for 1-2 seconds, immediately jumping to the requested page (could be a local or www address, IE does the same thing), and then pausing frozen for about 45 seconds until waking back up and then I can browse normally. The problem is most annoying when opening new windows and tabs, the picture pops up, but the screen freezes for about 45 seconds before you can do anything in the new window. Does anyone have any ideas about what could be causing this and how to fix it? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you, Tom |
