Optimizing your Internet browser

What is meant and involved with Optimizing your internet browser? I've heard the term and seen tech sites advertise that they do it. What is it they actually do and what is the benifit?

Question

Quote:
Hello Greekgirl, This thread is something that caught my eye.

We have two computers in the house, both use netzero hi-speed and are connected to the same phone line, both have Xp MS/sp2/OutLooks Express 6.0, both are HP computers(not the same model). When it comes to receiving EM; My receives EM with pictures two to one over my dad's computer. We both receive the EM at the same speed of 49 to 52 kps. When people send him EM, he has to wait nearly 20 min's to an hr. to get what I get in 5 or 6 min's.

I am at a piont I do not know where to began to look to solve this riddle. I have both sys. set to the same settings. The only thing that is different is that he does not have a High speed graphics card and he has a smaler HD. in his sys. Put even that should not slow down receiving EM and that is all he does.

Is there some sort of test I can run that can help me find this problem or info that I can get to you folks to help me analyze this problem???

God bless your many days ahead greekgirl
