unable to login to windows messenger

i am unable to log in to windows messenger which comes with windows xp, os
the user name p/w are correct. i have checked fire wall settings in that messenger is enabled. can any one help please

Are you getting an exact error number? If yes, please post back, together with your Messenger version info (Help menu > About Messenger > Build no.)

it tell that error 81000314. i do not know what to.
pls help me out
