My 1st post:)
Hope everyone is well on this Sunday evening. Normaly to delete my webpage history i go onto the internet and do the following: tools, internet options, clear history, delete cookies. Unfortunatly it still leaves some sites behind that ive been on. Can anyone help me get rid of my history completely?! Thanks Deano |

Hi,
If you are concerned about the "drop down" sites that come when you hit for example an "A" and all the sites you have visited under that heading show below the address line....then, you can also delete those one at a time. If these are not what you are concerned about, then disregard this suggestion. Anyhow, put an "A" in the address area and all the sites you have visited under "A" will appear under that address area.....to delete them, simply move your curser down until it highlights the one you want to get rid of and hit the delete (del) key and away they will go..... one at a time. Of course, if you go through the alphabet, you can delete all of them one letter at a time. What I suspect is that you have a few "special" ones you want to delete and this will do the job for those....highlight those by moving the curser down to them if you want them to go away, hit the delete and away they go. Addendum: If you want to get rid of all of them...open IE, Internet Options, Tools, Content, Auto complete.....and you can set it to do what you want and delete everything in there also.

e.g say i type in "www.c" before i type in the rest a whole list of links for other sites come up beginning with the C. Im pretty sure this is what you were talking about. I tried what you said, dragging cursor down, highlighting them and clicking delete. But nothing happens. Thanks for your help though mate, really appreciated, maybe it's my computer:S:) Deano |

Hi,
Don't drag the curser down....just move it down there without dragging and put it on the one you want to go away.....then hit the del key. Did you go into the IE, Tools, Internet Options, Content, Autocomplete, Remove the checks for Auto Complete, Then Remove passwords, Remove Clear Forms........AND, I am assuming you have already done this: IE, Tools, Interent Options, Delete Cookies and Delete History or Clear History.....If you have done both of those...they should be gone.

Hi,
You are most welcome mate. Now, don't be a stranger on here...stick around and spend some time just browsing, helping, or learning. This is a pretty neat place to be. Have a great evening.

Hi guys and gals. Just one more bit of cleanup that I did not notice anyone mention (or if I missed it, sorry).
While you are in IE>Tools>Internet options, also click "Delete Files" (right next to "Delete Cookies"), then place a check mark in "Delete all offline content">click OK. A little added clean up that is always helpful. Good luck. Last edited by BBF2530; 08-30-2006 at 01:27 PM. |
