All MSN not working

Sorry dont know if i have put this in the right section, but im at my witts end.
A friend downloaded MSN live the other day, which worked perfectly for one day.
However the next day i could not go on to any MSN service.
I have tried to resume back to a different start/ check date, uninstalled Live messenger, i have checked for viruses and even had the tech department round from the telephone company who installed the adsl line, (spainish i might add) and he could not find what was blocking MSN, i have Bit defender9 installed and it does not show any blocked programmes.

Any Ideas.

Check internet exploror settings. Make sure that it isn't 'working offline' as this effects MSN.
