Back/Forward resets to current page

Hello;
I have been experiencing a weird problem with my internet explorer (on XP). On some Web sites, this one in particular, when I select down into the individual Posts the BACK button will take me up to the post listings and the Forward will go gray with nothing inside. Then if I select Back again I get the same window I am on and if I look in the Back History it will show another entry of the current window along with the real history. Sometimes it will contain a url that is related to a AD contained in the site (not spyware).
I have reloaded Explorer 6.0 as well as tried 7.0 RC1. They all do the same thing. I also looked at two other computers, one does it on this site the other not but does on other sites. Maybe this is something that happens all the time but this is my first experience with this and I spend a lot of time on this site in particular. Anybody seen this before?

Paul

HI,
I still don't know what caused this problem but it went away without me doing anything. I started the computer two days ago in the morning and all was normal.

Some websites, in a not-so-friendly way try to 'trap' you. Whenever you travel to them they'll quickly and automatically redirect you to the true page and have the redirecting page in your immediate history so that whenever you try to go back you hit the redirecting page and pop back where you started.

Your best bet for these are to go back two entries instead and bypass the redirecting page altogether.

Yes I know that is an evil way to treat visitors to your site, but people do it.

Hello Cellus,
Thanks for the reply. I thought at first that it was some sort of thing as you suggested except that the two sites I had this problem with were this site,
TSF and MY EBAY (my Ebay account). I don't know why this occured but it's
gone for now.
