I have been unable to locate any info at all about this in the help section(s) of my IE6 browser.
If I left-click on a web page link I get a new, full-sized window with the linked web page, but it replaces my existing window. If I right-click the link and select "open a new window", I'm getting a smaller window for the linked page which I have to upsize with the upper right corner button. I just happen to prefer a new window for a couple different reasons. In recent weeks even the size of my "new" smaller window has for some unknown reason changed from a smaller mini window to a half page window. In any case, if there's a way to do it, I would like to preset any "new" window to the full size so that I won't have to upsize it every time. If anyone can suggest how this could be done, I would be very grateful. Note 1: When I switched over to a Firefox browser which I also have installed, I did not have this same new window (smaller) size problem, which inclines me to believe it's possibly/probably an Internet Explorer browser (setting) related problem. Note 2: I did get a response from a Dell user forum telling me that if I closed all other browser windows except the "new" (and upsized) window, and then lastly closed out that window while holding down the control key that it would be full-sized on re-entry the next time. That turned out to be correct, but only for that particular window. What I am looking for, however, is a way to stop all the linked new windows from needing upsizing, or in other words, a way to preset all new windows for linked pages to a pre-selected size. |

May be a way, but not that I know of.
IE New Window Maximizer from SnapFiles http://www.webattack.com/get/iemax.html AutoSizer - Resize Your Programs Automatically http://www.southbaypc.com/AutoSizer/ --------------------------------------------- Edit: This works for me. Open Internet Explorer Shift + click a link to force it to open in a separate window Alt + Tab to return to the first window Close it, leaving only the small window open Drag the window edges/corners to adjust the size Close the resized window Another way, Open one IE browser window. Click on a link to open a second. With the second, drag the corners to the edges of the screen. Do 'Not' hit the maximize icon. Close the first window, then the second (the order of closing is important). Make sure you do File, Close; do 'Not use the X button! Another way, Maximize Internet Explorer On Opening http://www.theeldergeek.com/maximize...t_explorer.htm Either way the next time you open a second browser window, IE saves the new default window size. -------------- Also, if you don't want to use the same window> In IE/Tools/Internet Options/Advanced tab/un-check Reuse windows for launching shortcuts/Apply/Ok

Thanks Flatiron2 -
I downloaded and installed the SnapFiles software and right off the top it seemed to work. Looks as if there are alternatives that you've provided even if it doesn't continue to work...thanks for your help...what a relief !!
