AOL/SP2 firewall/IE conflict?

I use AOL to access the net but use the dialler and not the browser (I use IE for surfing). I have started to notice recently that after about 5-10 mins, IE will freeze and I would have to disconnect and reconnect to continue. I have checked to see if the firewall is allowing the correct files from AOL and there are no problems. All the usual checks were done (re-install AOL, full Ad-ware/Spybot screen, re-install modem). I did interestingly notice though that when the firewall was down (SP2 firewall), the problem did not occur. Any ideas on this dilemma?

Do you use another firewall as well as SP2 firewall?

Also, does the problem still happen if you use AOL browser with SP2 firewall enabled?

Have not tried using AOL browser - I really dislike it! No I don't use another firewall.

Don't blame you for not liking AOL browser but using it to test with may help diagnose the problem....

Also, you can try Firefox if you like....much nicer than AOL ;-)
