How do I remove Quicktime add-on from IE?

I recently loaded Pinnacle movie editing software and it loaded Quicktime media player as an IE add-on. I prefer Windows media player to view mpegs on the web. While I can disable it, I can't figure out how to DELETE Quicktime as an add-on. I removed the Quicktime app using the control panel, but the add-on persists.

I appreicate any help you can give me.

Thanks.

G'Day, and Welcome to TSF.

Try this...........

Uninstall the Pinnacle software; Rebbot your computer; then, follow these guides......

Right click on 'Start' > Properties > Start Menu > Customize > then scroll down until you find "Set Program access and defaults. Check the box and Apply > OK > OK.

Then Start > Set Program Access and Defaults > Custom > then set the default to Windows Media Player and uncheck the box that will allow access to Quicktime.

If you still want the Pinnacle software, you can reinstall it, but do it as a Custom install and uncheck all references to Quicktime in the installation.

Hopefully this will solve your problem...but report back here and let us know how you went.

Regards,

Dave T.
