redirected to a random link

my friend called me the other day and said he had a problem with his internet explorer browser. he said that this one site that he visits from time to time has been giving him problems. he loads up the site's home page and everything seems to be fine. but whenever he clicks on a link, the new link would bring him to a completely random page such as a job listing page. none of the other sites he has visited have this problem. i tried to figure it out but came up short. any ideas or suggestions?

Did you try getting a HJT Log?

Get a log and post it in the subforum HJT LOG HELP!
Dont worry, there are great people waiting to help you out.
Remember your problem is most probably due to malware infection.
