security tab settings internet exlorer 6

Security Tab Setting Remains Unchanged After You Change Security Levels. need to change internet security to medium low. when i put it on medium low check apply o.k.
it goes right back to medium. even the default level is grayed out.
even when i try to push it down i get a warning and it pops right back to medium

Have you tried changing the level from the 'Custom' button?

yes. i hit the custom button. then changed it to medium low. boom it went right back to medium.
is there a way to reinstall

That's normal behaviour...though a little confusing :-)

Best way to check is set it to the lowest setting in Custom settings - Low. Then click the Reset button and you will get the prompt asking if you are sure you want to change the security settings for this zone, click Yes then OK then OK. Doing that will put all the settings in Custom to enable (kinda insecure browsing but this is just a test remember).

Then click Tools - Internet Options - Security - Custom - all the radio buttons will still be set to Enable/Allow - but the 'Reset To' button will still show Medium. Once you confirm this happens, you can reset to whichever setting suits you and know it will stay like that.
