Cannot Be Displayed.. DNS Error... Help!
I am running IE Version 6 with on Windows XP. My problem is often pages will not load. The “Page cannot be displayed” screen comes up which also says at the bottom “Cannot find server or DNS Error” (or does it always say that and I have only just noticed!).
Always seems okay when I first fire up the browser to my homepage (The BBC Homepage). But as soon as I click a link 99% of the time the Cannot Find… page comes up, it seems for the most part only on the BBC site, but occasionally occurs on others . If I hit the Refresh button three or four times the page will usually load okay, but sometimes it is corrupted with codes and dates etc. It is most annoying. This may not be connected, but it seems to stem from last week when I renewed my Panda Antivirus, and downloaded Titanium 2006, which includes a Firewall. I use Zone Alarm for my firewall, so there was an issue at first with each vying to run. But I have now switched off the Panda Firewall, much its annoyance, it is convinced I have only a “Medium Protection Level” But I prefer the Zone Alarm Firewall. But could this be something to do with the problem? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Stewart |
