cant view videos on websites

hi, i cant view some videos on websites, when i try to play a video in an embedded windows media player - it causes IE to crash. These videos cant be shown on firefox either as it says "windows media player plug in dynamic lnks library - the plugin performed an illegal operation - you are strongly advised to restart firefox.

examples of these websites are www.break.com and www.ebaumsworld.com, i have been to a windows media player test page that checks if it is properly installed - and on that site the video worked.

i know this is the IE forum so any help on that wud be good!

thanks - twig

Sounds like a problem with windows media player. What version do you have? If its 9 or below try upgrading to 10. If not, try running sfc /scannow and if that doesn't work, try a repair install.
