IE opens windows explorer

This problem just recently started happening. Im running IE 6.0 on a windows 2000 pc. It worked fine for the first few months...then everytime i tried to open internet explorer it will open a new window that shows whats on my desktop instead....as if i went to my computer and went to the section for my desktop. Ive ran spyware scans with spybot, adaware, panda platinum, and super ad blocker and even checked to make sure the desktop shortcut was using the right file extension, which it was and trying to open the main file thru my computer gave me the same result. Can someone please help me...there are a lot of pages i use that wont work well with firefox

My System

Hi...

certainly seems a little weird.

What happens when you try loading the Internet from C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\iexplore.exe?

Also, same applies to trying Start -> Run -> iexplore.exe www.google.com (or another web address) -> OK

However when i typed in a web address in the navigation bar (ss2.jpg), it did the same thing and opened up C:/Documents and Settings/Administrator/Desktop instead of going to the web page (ss3.jpg) someone plzzzzzzz help me.
