Nokia 6288 screen problems

I have recently been given an old Nokia 6288 off my mum. It has worked for about two years and has been fine the last couple of days.

This morning I attempted to turn it on but nothing as happening. It was on charge at the time. I took it off change and put it back on charge. Then it told me it was charging, normally when it charges you can just hold down the power button and the phone turns on. I held down the power button it turned on and said the word Nokia, as it always does, and then played to Nokia graphic of the two hands joining, after this the screen goes black and pixelates (little dots of colour just sort of fade away), then the screen goes white again. It does this 4 times then turns off.

I have looked around the internet and similar things are happen to other people but there are no answers to the problems.

Please help
