A strange call without a record

I answered a call in the street, the caller kept in silence no matter what I asked. Meanwhile, I was able to hear the background noise which sounded like in a bus from the caller. So, I hung up after waiting for two minutes. Though the local service provider didn't offer a caller ID service in the region where I used the phone (Motorola V551), but the numbers would be available on a bill. I then contacted the service provider to check the original phone record. Yet, only a call before and a call after this strange call were listed! The technician said even a hidden call, if connected successfully, it would have a record. I was conscious and I didn't take any drugs, nor was I sleepwalking at the time while I got the call. How could this happen?

Re: A strange call without a record

Cell phones are kind of like radios. Maybe a signal got through with out using your provider.
