trouble making a ringtone

im trying to make a ringtone from the song lipstick on your collar.
i just need the yeah, yeah parts & then to fade out at the beginning of the song. im using motorola phone tools v5.0 for crapy vista. the cell phone is a motorola v360.
when i go to save to pc it says save as .mp3, now when i play it back there is nothing. help
i would be very grateful if any of you people could help me, thanks

If its any help, the phone is mp3 ready. i just cant figure out whats wrong?
i had a h_ll of a time getting phone tools to even run in vista.

crapy vista is the problem, on xp pro everything works.
i knew if i waited long enough somebody here would help me. lol

Hi Larry,

There is plenty of other software out there that will do the same thing as the motorola software.
e.g.cubase, soundforge and any other audio editing software

you will get it working on vista/win7 but the motorola software is probably not compatible.
