please helpp

hey guys i have 2 big problems and i need help!

My first problem:
My dad got us a new vista computer so we (my brother, sister and I) decided to make our own vista usernames w/ passwords...i downloaded itunes on my desktop and it seems to work on all other usernames but the problem is itunes seems to only read ipods when i am logged onto my desktop (basically my borther and sister have to log onto my desktop in order add music to theyre own ipods) im not sure how to fix this and i was wondering if anyone could please help with this? i would greatly appreciate it

My second problem:
So i am on my desktop and i try to upgrade my itunes to the new 8.0.2 version...i begin to download it and it seems that once i have completed the installation an error message pops up that reads "Service (Ipod service) could not be installed. Verify that you have sufficient privileges to install system services" the istallation then cancels and im left so confused as to what to do.

any help would be greatly appreciated and i sure do need some right now !

Re: please helpp

Hi jrandolph43,

To your first problem, have you tried installing itunes on the other accounts on your Vista computer ? Vista can be a pain in the *** when dealing with user accounts & can be a bit niggally !! Also what user rights have all the users on the Vista computer got ?? This leads me to your second problem it sounds as if you do not have some administrator privileges to perform this task !!

If you go into the user accounts via control panel & check what user rights you all have as it might be standard, restricted or other !! Not at my Vista pc just now so cant remember off the top of my head !!! But if you check this & make sure that either you or all users on the Vista computer has full administrator access !!

This should hopefully sort out the problems you are having, well fingers crossed anyway !!

Cheers
