Buying a new mp3 player
I'm looking for some advice in buying a new mp3 player. I want something relatively small with a long lasting battery. I'm more interesting in sound quality over screen and video quality. I'm trying to avoid an Ipod, but haven't ruled it out. I'd also like to spend no more than 250$. So far I can't find anything worth buying. Any help?
Thanks. |

Re: Buying a new mp3 player
Sandisk makes a few reliable players under their Sansa brand. I'm having a small problem with my E250 due to old age (>2yr). The latest one, Fuze, looks like a smooshed E200-class.
Zen and Sony reportedly make decent ones that aren't too expensive. I haven't had any experience with them. My experience with the iPod was not very good. I barely had it out of the box when it decided to corrupt. Normally this isn't a big deal for a USB device, but we're talking about Apple, where everything is simple until something goes wrong. I returned the defective unit and got my Sansa E250

Re: Buying a new mp3 player
My 80G iPOD Classic has performed flawlessly for 2 1/2 years. In fact I'm listening to it right now. I've kept it in a neopreme case the whole time so its never been banged around much. If you're going to be more rough, I'd go with a solid-state model.
