Ipod not recognizing
alright this is probably a question that has been put up here more than a million times, but my ipod is not getting recognized by itunes. This is a fairly long story by the way.
I have a new computer and an ipod touch 1st gen. When i hooked it up to the computer it made me download itunes. When i first installed itunes/quicktime it only finished the instillation of quick time before i got an error message. i tried it again and got the same error message, luckily i already had the update center and went to that to get the itune installation. It was a different instilation screen but i still got the newest version of itunes. I hooked my ipod up and the green charging bar went on my ipod but no recognized ipod on the side bar of itunes. I unplugged it and put it back in, but it did not get the loading bar again, and said that the device could not be recognized on the taskbar. I looked online and it said to restart, re-install itunes, ect. I did all that and my ipod still does not recognize. When i re-installed itunes i used the original way to install it but i think the problem the first time was that i didn't see a security message about running it, and that made the instillation stop. Anyways i did that and still nothing happened. Ive tried every usb port on my computer and still nothing. One time i plugged it in and the ipod started charging but not with the green charging icon. When i use it at all when its charging that way it says on the taskbar "device not recognized" even though it is still charging. I really want it to be recognized by itunes but i don't know what to do. i want to avoid rebooting the ipod if possible because i have songs on there that aren't put onto any computer yet. Hope all the information helps. |
