IPod 5th Generation seems busted.
Hey guys,
Every time I turn on my Ipod, a message comes up saying "Please connect the Ipod to computer. Use Itunes to restore" I follow the instructions, it seems to restore fine, but then as soon as it restarts, the exact same message comes up. It's done this about 10 times now. I've tried re-installing Itunes, connecting and disconnecting the power cable. I've also gone through the whole resetting thing by holding different buttons combination, and renewing the .dll's (as per instructions on the apple website) No success with anything. It's on a windows machine by the way. Any ideas? Or is the little thing busted? ![]() Thanks in advance. Last edited by E5150; 02-03-2009 at 11:23 AM. |

Re: IPod 5th Generation seems busted.
When you turn on the ipod, or do anything with it, listen to it. It has a hard drive (like what is in a computer but smaller), they do go bad, especially in ipods that get bounced around, moved, etc. If you hear clicking or other strange sounds it probably means the ipod hard drive is bad. You can buy a new hard drive for it and install it. it would take some patience and just being careful and all but can be done.
you can try another computer/another cable and see if that helps, but you have done just about everything I can think of. |
