looking for mp3 player, ADVICE anyone?
i am looking for a small mp3 player that will let me listen to my mp3 files, do voice recording, and receive fm radio and record it, and has good battery life.
i have both pc and mac computers, but would prefer to use the mac for this: i don't want an ipod, unless there is one that gets and records fm and has voice recording without a bunch of add on stuff to carry. i am not very computer literate, and all my searches keep running into terms i don't understand... does anybody have any advice? thanks kj |

If you want crystal clear voice recording with a so-so noise floor, Phillips makes a great hard drive mp3 player that does just the trick. It's called a "GoGear".
The 8GB model is perfect. The 30GB model has audible hard drive sounds about ever 30 seconds in the recording. This device: -Plays mp3s & WMAs -Records Voice (44kHz CD Quality PCM Wave) -Integrated FM Radio -Records FM Radio (44kHz CD Quality PCM Wave) -Good Battery Life (I've never ran out of juice between charges) -UMC Mode Support For Compatibility With Other Operating Systems (Linux & Mac)* The 30GB model actualy records line-in audio too! ![]() *User must hold power and volume decrease while the unit is plugged into a computer. Re: looking for mp3 player, ADVICE anyone?
thanks to everyone who helped with ideas...i have made the iriver e100 work with my mac, and i like it pretty well, so i'll use that for the time being. i am already getting tangled up in the ear buds, don't think i could handle a separate mike, but maybe ipod will get it together in that regard. i have to say apple has got the customer service thing down, and iriver is just hopeless in that regard.
so thank you all for your help, i hate transitioning to new systems. kj |
