I have a 30 GB Hybrid Camcorder from JVC. I run Windows Vista, and have used PowerCinema, Pinnacle, and tried Power Director. I have successfully downloaded from the camera hard drive in the past, transferred it to Pinnacle, and edited it. Although it was a little difficult. (I had to save it as a different file every time.)
Now, after NOT using the camera for about 4 months, I recorded something Sunday. It won't even recognize the camera in Pinnacle. In PowerCinema it only recognizes the old footage, and Power Director doesn't recognize the camera as a camera, just as audio. Help! I haven't dropped it, misused it at all, and the video is readable on the hard drive of the camera. I have tried checking with JVC, but can't find a tech support on their website, just adds! Thanks |

Re: JVC Hybrid CamCorder Problem
With your camera did you get the Cyberlink suite of software (Power DVD, Power Producer etc.?) If so the easiest way is to download the video files from the camera to your hard drive on your PC (just drag and drop files from camera to PC) then import them into your Cyberlink editing suite from your PC hard drive and edit them there or if you want to edit them in Pinnacle or Movie Maker or other video editing suites that won't accept the MOD file format: Import them into Cyberlink and then export them as .avi files then import them into your other software - long way round but it works.
