home phone not working

i was on the phone talking to someone when someone else was calling, so i asked the first party to hold on and proceeded to answer the second call as i have call waiting, but being in a hurry i pressed the wrong button, instead of pressing "recall" and number 2 on the pad i pressed "call back" and the number 2, it made 3 beeps sounded as the pressing of the button on the phone and now the phone is completely dead, i tried calling my home phone from my mobile but it just ends, does not ring and i cannot call as there is no dial tone, someone PLEASE HELP ME!!!!

I even disconnected the phone from the wall socket but still does not work properly.
