i have a trans flash/mini sd and an sd adapter for it. i bought the razr 2 and i wanted to save the pics, texts, and all of the other stuff off my krazr and transfer them to the razr 2. everything went on it fine but when i tried to use it on my razr 2 all the files i tried to open said corrupted and had two choices, delete or exit. i tried to put music on it from my computer and all it kept saying was device not ready. maby one out of every 10 pics i tried actually transfered over sucessfully without saying device not ready and they still wouldn't open on my phone. am i doing someting wrong or does it just not work? its a lexar brand.

There are sometimes a little bit of difference in the folder structure between phones. Usually it's a bigger deal when changing manufactures, but I am not sure if there is a difference between the moto's v2 and krazr (got out of the industry right before it came out).
You want to make sure you format the memory card for the phone which will create the correct folder structure. It's easy to do thankfully. I would recommend removing everything from the card first. Then with the card in the phone power it off and then on. That usually setups the folder structure the phone needs for pics, mp3, wma, sounds, etc... Then pop the card into the computer to make sure the folder structure was created. If the folders are there then you will just need to drag and drop the correct files to the correct folder. If there is no folder structure on the card after powering the phone off and on there is a menu tree in the phone which will allow you to choose "format card". Check your manual for the specific information. Also what carrier do you use? Are you loading mp3 or wma into the card? Some phones use to require you to "Activate" the mp3 capability. Hope that helps!

Re: trans flash
thanks for the reply. i couldn't open it on my computer untill i formatted it so that was the first thing i did and i put it back in my phone and it set up the nessary folders and everything but when i put it back into my computer and try to transfer anything to it, it gets like half way and says device not ready. i've tried mp3, wma, jpeg, gif, png, almost anything i can think of and it just keep saying device not ready with the exceptions of a couple of pics (jpeg) every once in a while. i use us cellular. i have no idea whats going on cause this is the first time trying the mini sd card. i usually just use Motorola mobile phone tools for all of my backup and stuff but unfortunately, the new razr 2s have a different port and i'm not gonna buy the cord for it cause they should of left it alone. i have a regular sd card for my kodak easy share camera and it transfers both ways fine with no problem.

Have you tested your SD card (read/write) you use with your camera since you have had problems with the minisd? Do you have an SD port on your computer or are you using a reader that plugs in via usb?
Also there should be a small "switch" on the minisd card to write protect it. Make sure it's off (unlocked).

Re: trans flash
i have used the sd card for my camera to see if it was just my computer and the read/write is perfectly fine. i do have a built in card reader in my computer and the switch is not on write protect and like i said before, i can transfer a pic every once in while.

That sucks. I would point to your memory card being the issue. Last test would be another computer to make sure it's not something with yours. Really though if your other card is working just fine it really does point to your trans flash. Hopefully it's under warranty still? Could you take it into a wireless store and see if the tech could clean it?
If you think the card is fine you may want the moderator to move this post to the windows or hardware forum to see if they have any other options for you? Good Luck! Sorry couldn't get it working for you.
