Source to Purchase MP3 Music

I wanted to buy an MP3 downloadable Album from Amazon.com because it is a pretty good deal. BUT, they want you to download and install a special MP3 downloader. Which was a big deal buster for me using this service. This is the same reason I don't like ITUNES, because they lock you into this appication as the ONLY method for acquireing music. I want to be able to PURCHASE and download the MP3 Album, without having to install additional software on my machine just to do it. This is GARBAGE.

Is there any MP3 services out there that are LEGIT and do not require special applications (like ITUNES) to download the MP3s?

Or if someone has used Amazon and it's downloader application and had no problems exporting / burning the MP3 so they can be loaded on another computer or device, I would like like you to post your experience in this thread. I think they give you discounts so they can load spyware in the form of these required supplemental type applications, to collect and report information about you.

Would like to hear lots of feedback on this!

Thanks!

Grin Re: Source to Purchase MP3 Music

You HAVE to use Amazon's downloader? I thought that was an option. That's too bad, I was considering buying some rare tracks from them to save on a shipping hassle.

It seems the legit method is a more of a headache than it should be. A simple http transfer with a temporary URL is not good enough for a music purchase? Come on Amazon, and 256kbps is not good enough for my ears. I need at least 320kbps MP3 if FLAC is absolutely out of the question.

Please, supply my unique demand.
