formats for video files

hi everyone l downloaded a old vhs home movie to my computer and l would like to burn it to a disk.what is the most comon format that l could use on a dvd player thanks

Most new DVD players will read burned discs. If you have a Nero-type program, you could use the DVD burning utility with that. I think Nero still comes OEM with Windows.

MPEG2 is the file format you should use.

thanks for your help l have a program called digital media converter 2.7 this should work thanks jim

use avi or divx setting for cleaner picture...
