Re: music downloads

you can get legit music from just about any major online retailers from walmart to amazon.com. Then theres itunes, napster, rhapsody, and even aol.

Just about any place thats promises free music are not legit.

Re: music downloads

I've come full circle- from downloading illegal MP3s, to "buying" DRM'd WMAs, back to buying CDs. That's mostly because I've realized how much loss of sound there is with mp3/wma/itunes. If an album has mostly good songs, I think it's worth buying in a physical medium. That way, you can rip it in any bitrate and any format you want (I like FLAC), and you have a copy of it in case the file gets lost.

Death to DRM.

Re: music downloads

I second Fox. I have CDs of most of my library. The other two-thirds belong to my brother. He's the reason my machine is broken more times than it runs, and my training in hw necromancy.
