separating big files

hi all l recorded programs from live tv but the file is to big to burn is there a way to make it into several smaller files thanks

Which format are they in and which format would you like then in after splitting?

Also, how large are the files approximately?

they play on windows media player and the file is 5.5 hrs long.l downloaded a free program SID video cutter and splitter. l'll try it out and see how it works thanks

The file is DVR-MS file l don't know what this is. l would like to have a file that l can burn an watch on my dvd player.can anyone help thanks

Use something like Virtual Edit or Virtual Dub to edit and "split" the video file in segments. Then burn each of them onto DVD separately.

Did the software you tried not work?

l typed in the file name but vertual dub said ASF files are not supported
