MAJOR ipod dilema

Ok, here is the deal. I have a MAC with OS X 10.2. I have one of the 20 gig white ipods. Just the standard one. A few years old, no color, just plays music. It's music library was on the MAC. I had some major problems with the computer crashing and such and had to reformat the computer. So now all I have is an ipod with music on it and no way to update it and put more music on it because the ipod would be wiped when I change music libraries when I plug it back into the computer. I tried one of the freeware programs called ipodlink to get the songs off the ipod and onto the computer. This seemed to have worked except that almost all of the songs are now .m4p. I can't figure out how to get them back into itunes so that i can start updating my ipod again.

Re: MAJOR ipod dilema

to get the .m4p songs back into itunes, simply go to the file menu (in itunes) and select add file to library, ad them all (you can select multiple files) and make sure that everything works....

Re: MAJOR ipod dilema

Click here for a very simple, easy to follow guide on getting music back from your ipod to your computer (or in this case mac)

I have never heard of ipodlink, but music rescue (formerly podutil) is great - and works great on mac and windows

Hope i helped,
