Help for CD Image (most relevant forum?)

Hello! Im sorry if this is the wrong forum, but I could not really find anything more relevant. This issue has to do with a Wi-Fi router, but does not deal directly with the hardware. If this belongs somewhere else, please let me know. Also, the fact that I did not know which forum to post in made it hard to find an answer via Search.

Anyway, my issue is that my friend recently came to visit me, and brought her Wi-Fi router (called Wi-Fi Max, actually marketed for Nintendo DS and PSP). It requires a program that comes on a CD with it. Well, she left the CD here, and went back home several states away. In the meanwhile, she had to reformat her hard drive, and now she needs the CD.

I was wondering if there is some way to make an image of the CD, and just send her the data file over the internet, where she can either burn it back to CD, or just use the file. I think ISO is what I am looking for, but all the ISO files I can find look like something else.

If anyone can point me in the direction of a program (preferably free, hehe) that can help me with this, you will be hero of the day for us!!

Thank you very much in advance!!

You are correct, you want to make an ISO file so she can burn it back to disk. Pop over to google and input ISO recorder and take your pick. There are several programs that do this quite nicely. Be warned that the image can be up to 700mb, so if either of you have a slow or unreliable connection, you might as well drop the CD in the mail.

My System

Re: Help for CD Image (most relevant forum?)

I think the shareware version of CloneCD can do that in no time.

Also, if you friend only needs the driver for her wifi router, you might as well find the xp folder (if her system is xp) on the cd containing the xxx.inf file, and send her that folder. All she will have to do is copy all the files in the same place then right click the .inf and chose install. If you hesitate between several folder or .inf files, take the one whose name correspond the most to the router model (that should be on a sticker somewhere on the router).
