Mistake Videos not playing

Hello i'm new to the forum but this problem is really tickin me off And i'd like some help. Whenever i'm playing a game, i like to minimize it to take a break, useually search the web or watch a video of somesort, well all of a sudden it stopped playing videos for me, it plays the sound, but not the video, it only happens when i have a game in the background, well a new game (ie WOW, half life 2 etc). Also when i close the game with the video running it hard locks the computer and makes it really laggy, anyone have any suggestion/know whats wrong with my ocmputer, would really appreciate your help, thanks

yea dont run video and games at same time lol
well the only thing i can think of is that maybe the card is running too hot when you do this, that would explain teh locking up, but as for why it doesn't play video anymore well i just dont know
can you tell me how how it gets while running hl2 and a video at the same time?

My System

Your computer will always be laggy when a game is running in the background because the game will be using resources (graphics/RAM/processor) which can't be reallocated to other programs. Shut the game down. Half Life I know doesn't take too long to load. You will probably fing the extra time you wait for the games to load will be less than waiting for your computer to perform other tasks.

You would think that 2.5 gigs of RAM is sufficient, but you also have to take into account the latency of the RAM. You can have 500 gigs of RAM, but if the speed lacks, you are going to have problems multi-tasking -- especially with resource intensive games and video rendering.

Also, be sure to check your RAM placement. Alot of boards are really picky about how you install your RAM. Make sure that you are getting the correct Memory speeds in BIOS.
