Scrambled colors, rolling images on Video IN (Asus 9800 XT)

I use Asus VCR to display the video from my satellite receiver, using the "Video In" input on my Asus 9800 XT /w. 256 mb memory.

Yesterday i moved the receiver so i disconnected the rca video cable from the video in adapter of the 9800xt, and then i reconnected it... all this while both pc and receiver were on.

The moment i re-connected it, Asus Vcr started showing garbled, colors and rolling images...

I have tried:
-reboot
-reinstall drivers
-another video source (video cam, digital cam, cable box)
-other brand new RCA video cables
-jerk moving all the cables around

Here's 2 screen capture shots, showing exactely how the video looks

This card i bought from an online store, retail, in the first week they came out, and i paid $520 for it.

Couple questions:
1. Is there something else i can do?
2. I lost the original receipt... can i still get warranty - exchange ? (I still have all the original box/manual and everything)
3. I have read the warranty is 3 yrs.. and this card hasnt been out for 3 yrs, so it should be covered.. am i right?

My System

Hi, I have the same video card and have had good support from asus, with the exception of smart doctor issues. If you register your card on their site I think you should be ok for warranty work. At least I have had good luck.

I have never used the asus digital vcr for anything other than capturing video but the program is a little buggy.

Have you gone into setup and checked the device connector is set to composite? or that your video standard is set appropriately?

:) of course... i tried changing to all other video standards...and composite, yes... if i chose svideo theres no image whatsoever.. makes sense.

I'm thinking somehow one of those little smt resistors on the video card pcb, got burned when i re-connected the rca jack... now if i send the card for replacement, i'll be without a pc for how long? ... lol

I don't know where you are but here I sent my card from Oregon to Kentucky where they tested my card and returned it all within 2 weeks. Of course I have a spare video card so I wasn''t without a pc lol
Good luck.
