no sound on video card

I have an InterVideo MSI PVS TV tuner card on my PC, which is a budget unit I purchased over a year ago and has, until recently, done the job well for me. I don't know why, but for some reason recently the sound stopped working, and though I've checked the volume and mute settings, cables, etc, nothing seems to bring it back. I've even reinstalled the software/drivers that came with it, and it still doesn't work. I do know it has something to do with the input, as I recorded a segment of the TV and tried palying it back, but no sound came out. Yet I can select another segment recorded before, and the sound comes out fine, so it isn't output that's the problem.

I did have to replace the motherboard a few months ago with an identical unit, and perhaps I haven't put everything back exactly as I had it before... I just don't know.

Can anyone offer any suggestions?
