Nvidia driver problems

Hi, thanks for reading. I'm trying to install a GeForce 6600LE into a PC running windows XP. Thr previous graphics card, also Nvidia worked fine. I uninstalled the old drivers, installed the new hardware into the AGP then booted up the computer. Windows 'install new hardware' detects the card, but cannot install the driver. 'There was a promblem installing this hardware. Video controller (VGA compatible). An error occurred during the installation of the driver. The data is invalid.'
Even instaling the driver via the wizard on the enclosed CD does not work as get the same message when reboot computer and tries to autodetect again.
Device manager for the video controller says no driver has been installed and there is a code 1 error.

Any ideas, thanks again. JM

My System

have you tried downloading the drivers from the Nvidia web-site? I believe this would be the driver you need: http://www.nvidia.com/object/winxp_2k_84.21.html
