Hz divers problem

Hi there. I did a stupid thing. A thread said i should update my drivers. I updated my radeon 9250 to the newest catylyst drivers, but the screen would shake unless the refresh rate was at 60 hz. So i uninstalled those drivers, and installed my old ones. Now it is doing the same thing, shaking unless at 60 hz. It used to run fine at 75 hz, so now the games i play look choppy and bad. please help!

Hi,

What has happened is that probably you did not get all the old drivers out and that is causing your problem. You probably just need to clean the old ones out first.

The second comment I want to make it that In My Humble Opinion, the Omega drivers are the best for ATI products. I use Omega drivers for my ATI cards. That being said, you decide what you want for drivers as the bottom line. Here is a process and program that will help you to clean the drivers out before you install the drivers of your choice. I have also included a link to Omega if you want to take a look at those:

Some times when the ATI drivers don't work, you can get better success with the Omega drivers. Here is a link if interested that tells you how to uninstall others and then a link for Omega:

What is the full uninstall procedure I must follow if I want to remove the XX drivers from my system?

Before you start this full uninstall procedure, make sure you have downloaded and installed the latest version of Driver Cleaner; if you are using my drivers then a special version of Driver Cleaner is already included.

Clean procedure to remove old drivers

1. Go to the Windows Control Panel, Add/Remove Programs section.

2. Uninstall the ATI Control Panel or Catalyst Control Center, don’t restart.

3. If uninstalling the Omega Drivers, uninstall Radlinker (if using an old driver set).

4. Uninstall the existing driver set, restart.

5. Boot your PC in safe mode.

6. Run Driver Cleaner, restart afterwards.

7. If uninstalling the Omega Drivers, now uninstall the Setup Tools from the Start Menu.

8. Now you can install any driver you like.

Here is the link to Omega Drivers:

Thank you for the quick and kind response.

Unfortunatley, after doing all you said, i can still not run higher than 60hz without a jumbling screen. I installed the omega drivers as well.
Is there any other thing that could be causing this problem? It ran perfectly this morning untill i messed with the drivers. Thanks for the help!
